The indoor or covered swimming pool is a source of well-being that allows you to enjoy pleasant swimming at home all year round, sheltered from bad weather. This is the case if studied and appropriate solutions have been put in place to fight against the inevitable humidity that can reign in the closed and warm swimming pool hall. Depending on the installation of the indoor swimming pool, find out which types of dehumidifiers for the swimming pool are best suited.

Why install a console dehumidifier?

The dehumidifier is essential to preserve the beauty and the durability of the aquatic place. Without it, humidity will inevitably be created in this space. If nothing is planned to limit condensation, the building, the decoration, etc. will deteriorate and bathing discomfort will be evident.

For which indoor pool?

For a small space, like a spa room, it makes more sense to install a portable dehumidifier rather than a chemical dehumidifier. It is more appropriate and more efficient. It is compact, can be moved easily and when the good weather arrives and it is no longer needed, it can be stored leaving a free space. Very often and since it is mobile, the condensates are discharged into a tank that must be emptied, some will see this as a constraint.

For indoor pools or in a veranda, preferably without bay windows, a dehumidifier in the form of a room console is installed. It is suitable for swimming pools with a surface area of up to 20 m2.

A dehumidifier capable of treating 1.8 liters of air per hour is ideal for a room whose swimming pool or spa has an area of less than 15 m2. A console with an air extraction capacity of between 2.3 and 4.6 liters per hour is intended for pools between 15 and 20 m2 maximum.

For swimming pools under high cover, the ideal would be a ducted dehumidifier. Highly effective for demisting glass walls but also more expensive, it requires substantial work. Then it is possible to choose to install a "console" dehumidifier for a swimming pool under a high cover. Condensation is very present in the mid-seasons and in winter, the dehumidifier is then essential. In summer, most of the time, the temporary solution is to open the shelter, so the condensation is evacuated naturally. A heat balance perfectly guides the choices.

Why opt for a room dehumidifier?
Why opt for a room dehumidifier?

First of all, the room dehumidifier is a quick, simple, efficient and economical solution. Easy to use, they are pre-programmed. To modify the data, the hygrometry rate for example, simply press the button.

The device is placed in the pool room, either on the ground or it can be fixed to the wall, but at least 2 meters from the pool. Although unobtrusive, it struggles to blend in with the decor, although design efforts are evident.

It can be put in place on its own, provided installation rules are followed and have strong skills, particularly in electricity. Some manufacturers require that the device be installed by a professional in order to validate the warranty.

The price of a room console is the most competitive of electric dehumidifiers. However, it varies according to the power of the device, its options, the materials of its components, its brand... it takes between 1,500 euros and up to 6,000 euros and more!
